Hello! I am working on the SuperTab 7 beta almost every day right now, and two things have arrived that I want to show.
Plugins. A row that runs small scripts and shows what they print: CPU and memory, free disk space, how many of your projects have uncommitted changes. SuperTab uses the same format as xbar and SwiftBar, so hundreds of ready-made plugins work as they are — and if you write one for SuperTab, it works there too.
Widgets. A row of tiny web pages — HTML, CSS and a little JavaScript — drawn right inside the panel: a clock for three cities, the current week, live bars. A widget can also read what a plugin produced, which is how the built-in one draws CPU and RAM without running anything itself.
Both are rows like any other. You add them from the Add row button at the bottom of the panel, next to Applications, Windows and the clipboard.
And the documentation. Until now there was none at all, which is an awkward thing to admit about an app with this many moving parts. Now there is: the full guide — first launch, permissions, every row type, tabs, clipboard, licence, troubleshooting — plus separate pages for plugins and widgets with screenshots.
If you are already running the beta, the app now links to all of this from its menu.
The beta runs on macOS 14.6 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel. If something behaves differently than you expected, tell me — that is what the beta is for.
